Asia Tech Wire (Aug 2) -- The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating Nvidia's acquisition of Israeli artificial intelligence startup Run:ai on antitrust grounds, according to Politico.
The two companies announced the deal in late April, but did not disclose its price. However, Israeli media outlet Calcalist expected the deal to be worth around $700 million.
Founded in 2018, Run:ai has developed an orchestration and virtualization software layer that specifically targets the unique needs of AI workloads running on GPUs and similar chipsets.
Nvidia previously said it has been working closely with Run:ai since 2020.
