Asian Tech Press (Dec 6) -- Co-founder and CEO of global streaming giant Netflix Reed Hastings will reportedly fly to Seoul later this month to settle a dispute with SK Telecom Co., South Korea's largest wireless carrier.

Citing industry sources, the Maeil Business Newspaper reported Monday that Hastings is said to be discussing his trip to South Korea later this month, including a meeting with SK Telecom Vice President Park Jung-ho.

An official from the business circle said it was unclear what the two sides would discuss, but the meeting could be a turning point for a partnership between Netflix and SK Group on South Korea's over-the-top (OTT) service Wavve.

The report said this is Hastings' first visit since 2019 and is expected to begin by resolving a legal dispute with SK Broadband, which has filed a lawsuit against Netflix over network usage costs from increased traffic.
