Asian Tech Press (Apr. 20) -- Chinese electric vehicle maker Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) apologized on Wednesday for the delayed delivery of some orders due to the impact of COVID-19 prevention and control.

Since the end of March, due to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, some of Li Auto's supply chain partners located in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai regions have been unable to offer their products.

Li Auto responded, "The situation had a great impact on Li Auto's production in April, resulting in the delayed delivery of new vehicles for some customers. We deeply apologize for this."

The EV maker said that it is now working with supply chain companies to actively restore production capacity while meeting COVID-19 policies.

"We are working hard to keep the delivery delays for our customers to less than three weeks," said Li Auto.

It was the second time this year that Li Auto delayed delivery due to the pandemic.

In early February, Li Auto announced that new vehicles originally expected to be delivered in February and March would be delayed by no more than one month due to the prevention and control of COVID-19 across China.
