Asia Tech Wire (Apr 16) -- Japan plans to take antitrust action against Google over search advertising, according to Nikkei.
The Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) is planning to push Google to voluntarily reform its business practices because of alleged unfair restrictions on Google's search advertising partnership with Yahoo.
The Japanese antitrust agency has been investigating Google's keyword-targeted search advertising technology it provides to Yahoo, sources said.
And the sources said Google has submitted a plan for improvement.
The JFTC has also been investigating Google's search service, but has decided to give priority to its huge advertising business.
