Asia Tech Wire (Oct 28) -- Alphabet's Google is developing artificial intelligence technology that can control browsers to perform tasks such as research and shopping, according to The Information.
Citing sources, the report said that Google will showcase the product, codenamed "Project Jarvis," in December and unveil its next-generation Gemini large language models.
Microsoft-backed OpenAI also wants its models to be able to browse the web autonomously with the help of a "CUA," or computer-using agent, and take action based on the results of its research, according to the report.
AI startups Anthropic and Google are trying to take this agent concept a step further with software that interacts directly with a PC or browser, the report noted.
