Asian Tech Press (Dec 14) -- Faraday Future (FF) announced the start of infrastructure construction for the remaining production areas at its Hanford, California facility, including the body shop, powertrain shop, warehouse, and final assembly shop.
FF said construction of the internal infrastructure for each production shop is progressing well, with critical mechanical systems, including electrical and plumbing systems, currently being installed at the facility. FF will soon begin installing manufacturing and final assembly-related equipment.
Matt Tall, FF Vice President of Manufacturing, said, "Completing our third manufacturing milestone is a significant feat for the company, allowing the production of our next generation of high-performance electric vehicles, the FF 91, to proceed on schedule."
FF has completed three of the seven manufacturing milestones since its launch in July, including installing equipment to support the manufacturing of pre-production vehicles and qualifying the plant for final production use. Now that FF's third manufacturing milestone at the Hanford facility has been completed, following the start of infrastructure construction for the Hanford facility production area, the remaining four production milestones include:
-Milestone 3 (completed): Initiation of infrastructure construction for the remaining production areas, including the body shop, powertrain shop, warehouse, and final assembly shop.
-Milestone 4: Volume manufacturing of pre-volume production vehicles for final engineering verification and certification.
-Milestone 5: Commencement of operation of all mechanical and electrical equipment and piping systems to support final equipment installation.
-Milestone 6: Completing all infrastructure construction and equipment installation in the main vehicle manufacturing area.
-Final Milestone: SOP achievement by summer 2022.
