Asia Tech Wire (Aug 1) -- The Walt Disney Co. plans to launch a new round of layoffs at its TV division, seeking to further reduce costs, according to Bloomberg.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the report said Disney will cut about 140 positions, or about 2% of the company's total workforce in its entertainment television division.

The cut will fall hardest on TV networks such as National Geographic and Freeform.
