Asia Tech Wire (Sep 23) -- A Chinese company has denied that it has been removed from Apple's supply chain.
Recently, there are news that due to product quality problems, Kunshan Kersen Science & Technology Co.,Ltd. (603626.SH), a supplier of Apple's Macbook bearings, has had its license to manufacture and supply the bearings suspended by Apple, which is transferring the orders to other suppliers until the end of this year.
The bearings were allegedly used in previous-generation MacBook Air models, not the latest ones, and MacBook Air models with defective bearings did not enter the market.
In this regard, a Kersen staff member said on Monday, "[It] reflects that some of the problems are indeed true, part of the spindles of MacBook Air products are faulty, we are in the process of dealing with it, and the conclusion will be clear in a while."
Meanwhile, he also emphasized that "the company has not been cut out of Apple's supply chain, and the execution of our major orders [from Apple] is normal."
Kersen provides customers such as Apple, Huawei, Amazon, and Google with R&D, manufacturing, and partial assembly services for precision metal and plastic structural component products required for consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive, and other end products.
