Apr.8,2021

Chinese video sharing website Bilibili (Nasdaq: BILI), also nicknamed B Site, is in talks to buy 24% stake in Shanghai-based game developer Yoozoo Games, as a part of a deal worth nearly 5 billion yuan (about $764 million), according to market sources.

Bilibili may form a consortium with some investors in Shanghai to complete the deal to acquire Yoozoo stake.

Lin Qi, the founder and former CEO and chairman of Yoozoo, died from being poisoned at the end of 2020. Then there were twists and turns in the game company’s operations, alleged misrepresentation and untimely information disclosure.

Bilibili Chairman and CEO Chen Rui submitted a letter of intent for investment to the sitting chairman of Yoozoo last month.

B Site responded that the news was not consistent with the facts.
