Asian Tech Press (Feb 28) -- China plans to build more than 600,000 new 5G base stations in 2022, a government official said on Monday.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MTTT), China's technology industry regulator, will continue to strengthen 5G network coverage and promote the deep integration of 5G with vertical industries, said chief engineer of MIIT Yulong Tian at a press conference on Monday, adding that 2022 is a critical year for the development of 5G applications on a large scale.
Tian said China expects to build more than 600,000 new 5G base stations this year to strengthen network coverage for key areas such as corporate facilities and industrial parks.
