Asia Tech Wire (Sep 26) -- China's state-owned automaker Changan Automobile plans to list its electric car brand Avatr independently.

Asked if Avatr has any plans to go public, Changan responded in the affirmative on an investor interaction platform on Thursday.

"Avatr technology will grow independently, market independently and integrate resources from strategic partners, and there are plans to go public independently," the Chinese automaker said.

A month ago, Avatr announced that it had completed the purchase of Huawei's 10% stake in its smart car unit Yinwang, in a deal valued at 11.5 billion yuan.
