Asia Tech Wire (Oct 16) -- U.S. medical device maker Boston Scientific opened its first manufacturing facility in China on Tuesday in the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone.

This is an important part of Boston Scientific's comprehensive localization strategy in China.

The new facility will focus on the production of medical consumables and devices, enabling Boston Scientific to realize in-house manufacturing in China.

This facility features medical technology industry-leading laboratories, production halls and warehouses, as well as clean rooms that meet both Chinese and international standards, said Boston Scientific.
