Asia Tech Wire (Aug 23) -- BMW beat Tesla in the European electric car sales charts for the first time in July.
According to consultancy Jato Dynamics, BMW's European sales of all-electric models rose by more than a third in July to 14,869 units, making it the top seller in the region.
By comparison, Tesla sales slipped 16% to 14,561 units.
So far in 2024, Tesla still maintains a recommended rating in electric car sales, but has seen its market share in Europe eroded by the likes of BMW and Volvo.
In July, European car buyers added 139,300 new registrations, down roughly 6% year-over-year.
