Asia Tech Wire (Nov 5) -- Tesla on Tuesday denied a South Korean Olympic shooter as its first brand ambassador.
This comes after Teslarati reported that Tesla signed up South Korean Olympic shooter Kim Ye-ji as its first-ever brand ambassador.
Kim shared a photo with the Tesla logo on Instagram, and her agency, PLFIL, revealed earlier this month that she wanted to "convey a positive message with Tesla" and was "truly happy" about working with the automaker.
In response, Tesla told Chinese media that the company does not have an officially appointed brand ambassador.
So there is speculation that Tesla and Kim may indeed be working together in some way, but Tesla has not signed her as its brand ambassador.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said, "At Tesla we've never spent any money on advertising, we put all the money into R&D, manufacturing and design to try to make the car as good as possible."
