On April 13, Beijing time, Chinese market regulators completed the investigation on Qihoo 360 for false and illegal advertising, and imposed a fine of 2 million yuan.
This year, the Chinese state television China Central Television’s (CCTV) popular annual consumer rights show, also known as “315 Show” in China, the World Consumer Rights Day program, exposed Qihoo 360, the Chinese second-largest search engine after Baidu, releasing false and illegal advertisements.
After the exposure, the Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation launched an investigation on the Qihoo search engine. Recently, the government market regulator completed the investigation and fined Qihoo $305,000.
