Xiaomi Corp will unveil a new self-developed chip on March 29, according to its official Weibo social media account.

This will be the first time Xiaomi launches its self-developed chip since 2017. Back then, Xiaomi released an 8-core SoC chip called Pengpai S1 through its subsidiary Pine Cone Electronics, which was used in Xiaomi's budget phone Xiaomi 5C.

From the official poster released, this new chip is expected to use the brand name Pengpai again, but the specific model is not announced, and It is still unknown if the chip will be an SoC type chip used in mobile phones, or some other kind of chip that will be used in photo imaging, telecommunications, or other uses.
