Asia Tech Wire (June 4) -- U.S. chip giant Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA) plans to build a large design center in Taiwan in the next five years.
Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said in an interview Monday night that the company is going to set up a very large design center in Taiwan in the next five years that will employ at least 1,000 engineers.
Huang said Nvidia is also looking for a very large site where it can build a headquarters in Taiwan.
But the exact location is still under consideration, and Huang has yet to make a decision.
Huang recently visited Taiwan for Computex 2024 and hosted a banquet for Nvidia employees at a seafood restaurant in Taipei on Monday evening.
