Nintendo cuts Switch sales forecast after weak H1 results

Asia Tech Wire (Nov 6) -- Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has lowered its Switch sales forecast after reporting weak first-half fiscal 2025 results.

Nintendo on Wednesday reported a 60% year-on-year drop in net profit to 108.66 billion yen ($714.2 million) for the six months ended Sept. 30, missing expectations.

The company expects Switch console sales to reach 12.5 million units in the fiscal year ending March 2025, which is lower than the previous forecast of 13.5 million units.

Nintendo also expects software sales to reach 160 million copies, which is lower than the previous forecast of 165 million.
