Fay Lidan Dai, a former partner at Hong Kong-based private equity firm Today Capital, has recently joined social media company Xiaohongshu to head up the strategy business, assuming the role of CSO (chief strategy officer), according to Chinese media outlet LatePost.

According to the report, Dai will report directly to Xiaohongshu CFO Ziqi Zhang, who took over the non-business part of the function after the departure of former CFO Ruo Yang.

This new appointment means that Xiaohongshu's various business segments will be reintegrated, and Dai will lead these strategic adjustments.

Before she joined, Xiaohongshu had separate heads for different strategic directions, who now report to Dai.

Xiaohongshu also plans to set up a strategic investment team, headed by Dai, to invest in hard tech tracks, especially AI applications.

Xiaohongshu's original investment team will remain unchanged and continue to make financial investments.

After graduating from Peking University, Dai joined Baidu and was promoted to Product Marketing Manager of Baidu Maps in two years.

From 2013-2015, she pursued her MBA at Harvard Business School.

Dai then joined Today Capital, founded by "China's venture capital queen" Kathy Xu Xin,where she was promoted to Partner in 2022.
