On May 12, the "Joint Statement of the Sino-US Geneva Economic and Trade Talks" was released. The US tariffs on Chinese energy storage cells will drop sharply from more than 150% to about 40%. Zhang Jinhui, a senior researcher at Xinrong Information, said: "With a 40.9% tariff, exports may not increase significantly, (but) if you don't buy from China, there is nowhere to buy." According to InfoLink Consulting statistics, the overseas market energy storage cell shipments in 2024 will be 137.3GWh (gigawatt hours). The top five companies in the overseas market are CATL, BYD, EVE Energy, Envision Power and Ruipu Lanjun. In other words, the top five overseas energy storage cells are all Chinese manufacturers. In addition, among the top ten manufacturers in the overseas energy storage cell market, there are 8 Chinese manufacturers, and the other 2 are Korean manufacturers-Samsung SDI (Samsung SDI) ranks sixth and LGES (LG New Energy) ranks ninth.
