At 8:48 a.m. local time on February 25, Southwest Airlines Flight 2504 was forced to abort its landing at Chicago Midway International Airport because a private business jet suddenly crossed the runway. Southwest Airlines said that the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which was flying from Omaha, Nebraska to Chicago, finally landed safely after a go-around. It is reported that the aircraft that crossed the runway without permission was a Bombardier Challenger 350 business jet that was preparing to fly to Knoxville, Tennessee. The airport tower recording showed that the private business jet did not taxi according to the air traffic control command path. Currently, the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
