The largest single deal: UAE companies purchase Chinese "air taxis" for $1 billion

Today, the UAE company Autocraft signed a purchase agreement with Shanghai Shi Technology Co., Ltd. in Xinzhuang Industrial Zone, spending US$1 billion (about RMB 7.1 billion) to order 350 E20 electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) independently developed by Shi Technology. This amount far exceeds the RMB 3.5 billion intention order record set by similar domestic models in February 2025, setting a new record for the amount of a single order in China's eVTOL field. It is understood that the E20 adopts a tilt-rotor configuration and pure electric drive, can carry 5 people to achieve a range of 200 kilometers, and its five-blade propeller design reduces the vertical take-off and landing noise to about 70 decibels (equivalent to an ordinary car), and is almost imperceptible on the ground during cruising, providing an innovative solution for urban green three-dimensional transportation. At present, the airworthiness certification application of this model has been accepted by the East China Civil Aviation Administration and has entered the conformity verification stage. It is expected to complete certification and mass production and put on the market in 2027.
