According to Cailian Press, citing Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter revealed that the Biden administration is preparing to finalize a multi-billion dollar loan to electric car maker Rivian and hydrogen fuel cell company Plug Power before US President-elect Trump takes office, and it is expected to be announced as early as local time on the 16th. It is reported that the US Department of Energy will provide Plug Power with nearly $1.7 billion in loan guarantees for the latter to build a hydrogen plant. Rivian will use the US government loan to build a manufacturing plant in Georgia. The amount of the loan that Rivian will receive is still unclear, but people familiar with the matter revealed that its size will be close to the $6.6 billion conditional commitment made by the US government in November last year.
