On March 7, local time, the U.S. Department of Justice updated its potential antitrust lawsuit against Google, retaining most of the rectification demands made by the U.S. Department of Justice against Google's business during the Biden administration. Court documents show that the U.S. government no longer seeks to force the divestiture of Google's artificial intelligence investments, but instead requires the company to give advance notice of future investments. At the same time, the U.S. government insists that Google must divest its Chrome browser business to "provide opportunities for new competitors."
