Samsung Electronics' foundry business will buy billions of won worth of EUV (extreme ultraviolet lithography) pellicles from Mitsui Chemicals as chipmakers look to improve productivity in ultra-fine processing, industry sources said. Samsung will adopt EUV pellicles for mass production on its 3nm wafer foundry line at its S3 plant in Hwaseong, South Korea, after final testing.
