On February 18, the Korean corporate analysis and research organization "LEADERS INDEX" conducted a survey on 560 domestic companies and found that the total dividends distributed to shareholders by these companies in 2024 totaled 40.709 trillion won (about 205.2 billion yuan), an increase of 3.8458 trillion won year-on-year, an increase of 10.4%. In terms of individuals, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong received the largest dividend amount of 346.5 billion won, an increase of 22.8 billion won year-on-year; Hyundai Motor Group Honorary Chairman Chung Mong-koo received 189.2 billion won, ranking second; Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun received 174.7 billion won, ranking third. Last year, there were seven companies whose dividends exceeded 1 trillion won, including Samsung Electronics (9.8107 trillion won), Hyundai Motor (3.1478 trillion won), Kia (2.559 trillion won), SK Hynix (1.5195 trillion won), etc. Among them, SK Hynix is the company with the fastest increase in dividend scale, with a year-on-year increase of 84.1% (694.1 billion won) last year.
