The AI era has three characteristics: AI applications are everywhere, AI computing power is everywhere, and AI native is everywhere. In his speech, Chen Banghua pointed out that the next-generation optical network (AI ON) has five major features: Awareness, Always On Demand, Assurance, Autonomous O&M, and AI Native. In the future, optical networks will understand services better and can accurately identify service types based on traffic characteristics and flow characteristics of services. Optical networks can provide differentiated connections and guaranteed connections on demand in real time. In the future, the network will be able to proactively identify service and network risks and optimize them proactively before users complain. Build full-stack endogenous AI capabilities in the three aspects of network terminals, equipment, and management and control systems to accelerate the intelligent evolution of the network and build a solid foundation for 5A-level optical networks.
