Scientists from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology have successfully developed a new type of laser that combines high performance with low cost. This "small but beautiful" scientific achievement may shine in the fields of self-driving cars and fiber-optic Internet in the future.
