ChatGPT's paid subscriber base nearly triples to 15.5 million

OpenAI recently told some shareholders that despite facing competition from chatbots made by Google, Anthropic and Meta Platform, the number of paid subscribers to ChatGPT has nearly tripled from 5.8 million a year ago to 15.5 million in 2024.
