BYD plans to launch low-cost micro electric vehicles in Japan next year
According to foreign media reports, Chinese electric car giant BYD plans to launch a low-priced micro electric car in Japan next year, launching an electric car attack on the Japanese micro car market with a scale of US$18 billion. In addition, BYD disclosed sales data on the evening of June 1. The company's new energy vehicle sales in May were 382,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%. Among them, passenger cars and pickup trucks sold 88,640 units overseas, a year-on-year increase of 133.6%. Many brokerages said that with the company's overseas model matrix constantly enriched, production capacity layout and channel construction improved, and its own transportation capacity increased, BYD's exports are expected to continue to grow rapidly in 2025.
