Agency: Chinese TV brands will surpass South Korea in shipments for the first time in 2024, catching up with Samsung and surpassing LG Electronics in the high-end market

According to data released by market research firm CounterPoint Research on February 27, the global TV market brand shipments in 2024 will be 230 million units, a year-on-year increase of 2%. Looking at the fourth quarter alone, global shipments were 61 million units. From the perspective of manufacturer performance, Samsung Electronics ranked first with a 16% share, followed by Chinese TV brands TCL and Hisense, with shares of 14% and 12% respectively. LG Electronics ranked fourth with 10%. Samsung Electronics' shipment share in the high-end market in the fourth quarter was 29%, a year-on-year decrease of 12 percentage points. LG Electronics fell from 26% to 19%. On the contrary, TCL increased from 12% to 20%, surpassing LG Electronics and ranking second. Hisense also increased from 10% to 16%, closely following. On the other hand, China's TV shipments exceeded South Korea for the first time in 2024. According to data from market research firm Omdia, the combined shipment share of China's three major TV brands, TCL, Hisense and Xiaomi, reached 31.3%, exceeding the 28.4% of Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.
