ASM sales outlook stronger than market expectations AI boom drives demand growth
Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASM International's first-quarter revenue outlook exceeded market expectations as the popularity of artificial intelligence (AI) boosted demand for its products. The Almere, Netherlands-based company said in a statement on Tuesday that it expects first-quarter revenue to be between 810 million euros ($849 million) and 850 million euros, with further growth in the second quarter. Market analysts' average estimate was 800.2 million euros. ASM also confirmed its full-year outlook. The surge in demand for advanced semiconductors needed to run AI models is a boon to chipmaking equipment companies such as ASM and ASML Holding.
