At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.19%, the S&P 500 rose 0.32%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.41%. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM.N) rose 1.37%, with its quarterly profit reaching a new high. NIO (NIO.N) fell 7.7% after being sued by Singapore's sovereign wealth fund, allegations that were cleared three years ago. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index fell 0.16%.
