Asian Tech Press (May 19) -- China's leading smartphone brands Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo have informed their suppliers that they will cut orders by about 20% in the next few quarters.

Sources close to the matter said that Xiaomi informed its supplier that it will lower its original sales target of 200 million units for the year to around 160 million to 180 million units.

Its rivals Oppo and Vivo reportedly will also cut orders by about 20% this quarter and next quarter to digest the excessive inventory accumulated on the current channels.
