At the end of April this year, some consumers posted in a forum for Wuling Hongguang Mini EV that the newly purchased A0-class electric vehicles could not apply for the special license plate provided by Shanghai for new energy vehicles free of charge.
Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, China's best-selling electric vehicle, is manufactured by SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile, a joint venture between SAIC Motor, General Motors, and Liuzhou Wuling Motors Co Ltd.
Staff from a Wuling Hongguang 4S store replied that the new policy has not yet been announced, but according to the latest news the store received, the brand's best-selling A0-class electric car Wuling Hongguang Mini EV have indeed been unable to get a green license plate.
The staff also said that it is not clear when the new policy will be released, but said, "I guess things will not turn around".
The Shanghai Vehicle Management Bureau (SVMB) only said that the new policy will be announced on May 10 at the earliest, and no news can be revealed before then".
