Asian Tech Press (Sep 8) -- Weibo Corp. (NASDAQ: WB), China's Twitter-like platform, was registered in Hong Kong on Tuesday, perhaps in preparation for its plan to go public in the city.
It is understood that Weibo CEO Gaofei Wang is a director of the company.
The former US-listed Sina Corp, Weibo's parent company, announced the completion of its going private on March 23 this year, formally exiting the capital market.
Its main business, China's leading social platform Weibo, was rumored to be taken private in early July. At the time, Weibo denied the rumors.
