Mar.15,2022

Asian Tech Press (Mar. 15) -- Tesla Inc. has raised the prices of its Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles in China again after a five-day hiatus.

According to Tesla's Chinese website, the three models, Model 3 Performance, Model Y Long Range, Model Y Performance, have increased their prices, ranging from 18,000 to 20,000 yuan ($2,822-$3,136). And the current starting prices of the three Tesla models are 367,900 yuan ($57,687), 375,900 yuan ($58,942) and 417,900 yuan ($65,527) respectively.

This is Tesla's second price hike in the Chinese market in one week. On March 10, Tesla had raised the price of these three models, all by 10,000 yuan ($1,568).

In this regard, Tesla said that the reason for the price changes is known to everyone, not deliberate hikes for the company's models.

Since this year, affected by the tight supply chain of raw materials, chip shortages and the decline of subsidies for new energy vehicles (NEVs) in China, the prices of several Tesla models in the Chinese market have seen a large increase.
