Asia Tech Wire (July 9) -- Tencent's (0700.HK) NExT Studios-developed shooter SYNCED has announced that it will cease operations in China as of September 9th.

The game will stop in-game purchases and new user registrations starting Tuesday.

Tencent-owned publisher Level Infinite launched SYNCED in China on September 8, 2023, just ten months ago.

According to a third-party website, SYNCED's player count peaked at 10,000 in its first week of launch, and the number of online players has remained low, hovering around 200 since then

At the time of the official announcement of the shutdown, fewer than 50 people were even playing the game online.

SYNCED was first unveiled at the Gamescom 2019 in Cologne, Germany.
