Toyota to cut steel prices for parts makers

Toyota Motor Corporation has decided to reduce the price of steel sheets supplied to parts manufacturers in the first half of fiscal 2025 (April to September) by about 15,000 yen per ton compared with the second half of fiscal 2024 (October 2024 to March 2025). This is the second consecutive quarter of price cuts, taking into account factors such as falling steel raw material prices. The decision was communicated to some business partners on the 25th.

Toyota recalls 167,800 vehicles in the U.S.

Toyota is recalling 167,800 vehicles, according to a recall notice filed online by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Toyota is recalling specific batches of 2021 to 2025 model year Sienna Hybrid vehicles. The backrest bolts of the third-row seat assemblies in these vehicles may not be properly tightened. As a result, these vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 202, "Head Restraints", No. 207, "Seating Systems", and No. 225, "Child Restraint System Anchors".

Toyota to purchase LG Energy Solution's automotive batteries in the U.S.

Toyota Motor of Japan said on February 18 that it will purchase automotive batteries from LG Energy Solution of South Korea in the United States, and will purchase them from the LG Energy Solution factory that General Motors decided to withdraw its investment in at the end of 2024. Toyota's order size is about US$1.5 billion, and Toyota is expected to purchase batteries for pure electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles.

Toyota suspends operations at 14 plants in Japan due to snow

Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. recalls some imported Lexus RX, NX, UX vehicles and imported Toyota Alphard vehicles

Recently, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products. It has been decided to recall the following vehicles from February 28, 2025. 1. Recall 8 imported Lexus RX vehicles produced between June 10, 2019 and August 1, 2019; 1 imported Lexus NX vehicle produced on April 22, 2019; 1 imported Lexus UX vehicle produced on March 5, 2019. Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the improved low-pressure fuel pump for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate safety hazards. 2. Recall a total of 6,649 imported Toyota Alpha vehicles produced between July 30, 2020 and April 18, 2023. Toyota recalls more than 100,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to brake fluid leakage

On February 11, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) disclosed that Toyota Motor will recall some 2024-2025 Tacoma vehicles, totaling 106,100 vehicles, due to damage to the brake hose and brake fluid leakage.
