The World Internet Conference Artificial Intelligence Development and Governance Exchange Meeting was held in Quanzhou, Fujian on the afternoon of July 23. Wang Jingtao, deputy director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, attended the meeting and introduced the development and governance of artificial intelligence in China. Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the World Internet Conference, delivered a welcome speech. The meeting pointed out that China attaches great importance to the development and security of artificial intelligence. At present, China's artificial intelligence development is showing a good trend of positive and orderly development. First, it insists on policy supply and initially builds a security governance system for artificial intelligence with Chinese characteristics; second, it insists on innovative development and actively plays the role of artificial intelligence in new quality productivity; third, it insists on security assurance and helps enterprises improve their security protection capabilities throughout the life cycle; fourth, it insists on cooperation and openness and works together to build a community of shared future in cyberspace. The next step will be to continue to improve the governance mechanism, coordinate development and security, and further promote the healthy and orderly development of artificial intelligence in a beneficial, safe and fair direction. The event was hosted by the World Internet Conference, and representatives from more than 50 member companies including Qualcomm, IBM, Nokia Bell, Huawei, Ping An Group, Baidu, Tencent, JD.com, Macau Telecom, Qisheng Technology, and VIVO attended the meeting.
