On July 12, 2025, the SQX-3 first-stage liquid methane tank independently designed and produced by Interstellar Glory Aerospace Technology Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Interstellar Glory") successfully completed the low-temperature static test. The tank has a diameter of 4.2 meters and a length of about 17 meters. It is manufactured using the new generation of stir friction welding production line built by Interstellar Glory. It is a new generation of reusable low-temperature liquid methane tank. This low-temperature liquid nitrogen static test covers multiple load profiles under ground operation, flight, recovery and reuse conditions. The test mainly assesses the bearing capacity of the tank under internal pressure, axial force, and bending moment design loads, verifies the rationality of the engineering algorithm and the accuracy of the design. At the same time, a tunnel pipe with a diameter of 600mm is designed in the box. The test simultaneously assesses the structural bearing capacity and sealing reliability of the tunnel pipe under low-temperature external pressure conditions. During the test, the displacement and strain collection data are consistent with the test simulation prediction results, and the tank structure is in normal condition, which fully verifies the reliability of the tank structure and the process stability. Subsequently, blast tests will be carried out on the tank product to obtain the ultimate bearing capacity of the structure, laying a solid foundation for the formulation and implementation of reuse and life assessment criteria for the tank structure.
