Shein may file secretly for London IPO this week

Asia Tech Wire (June 3) -- Singapore-based fast-fashion giant Shein plans to secretly apply for a London IPO this week, according to Sky News.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the report said Shein will privately submit its IPO application to the Financial Conduct Authority, the U.K.'s financial regulator.

The confidential filing could take place as early as this week, though it could also happen later in the month, the people said.

Shein Executive Chairman Donald Tang said in an interview last month that the company had not yet decided on a listing location and that "we want to explore all the options."

Previously, sources said Shein was still leaning toward a U.S. listing and planned to continue to file with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The company may also make a secondary listing in New York after its London listing.
