Asian Tech Press (Nov 9) -- South Korea's Samsung Electronics on Wednesday unveiled a new generative artificial intelligence model and hinted that the software will soon be used in its devices.
Samsung Electronics said the generative AI model, called Samsung Gauss, is designed for AI applications on devices.
The South Korean company said its AI model is named after Karl Friedrich Gauss, "the legendary mathematician who established normal distribution theory, the backbone of machine learning and AI."
The model consists of Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code and Samsung Gauss Image, catering to AI chat, AI code, AI images, and more.
"Samsung Gauss is currently used on employee productivity but will be expanded to a variety of Samsung product applications to provide new user experience in the near future," it said.
Samsung also announced that Samsung Gauss will feature on the new flagship Galaxy phones, the Galaxy S24 series, which is expected to be released early next year.
