Recall Announcement by the SAMR on Porsche

With immediate effect, the company started to recall some imported 2020 and 2021 Taycan electric vehicles produced between January 7, 2020 and June 28, 2021, totaling 5,957 units.

The announcement said that due to the software problem of the electronic control, the recalled electric vehicles may lead to a communication failure of the power electronics, causing the pulse vehicle inverter not to work properly.

When the problem occurs, the powertrain system will stop working, resulting in a lack of power to the vehicle. If the vehicle is driving in complex traffic conditions such as highways, it will increase the risk of a collision.

Porsche will update the software of the power electronics and digita motor electronics (DME) for the recalled vehicles free of charge, in order to eliminate the safety hazard.
