Asia Tech Wire (May 21) -- Japanese game console and software developer Nintendo has acquired Hogwarts Legacy port studio Shiver.
Nintendo on Tuesday announced an agreement with Swedish video game and media holding company Embracer Group to acquire Miami-based Shiver Entertainment, making the latter a wholly owned subsidiary.
Shiver was responsible for porting Switch versions of games such as Mortal Kombat 1 and Hogwarts Legacy.
Nintendo said that after the acquisition is complete, Shiver's business focus will remain the same, continuing to port and develop software for platforms such as the Nintendo Switch.
