Asian Tech Press (Feb 14) -- Modern Media Co Ltd, the Hong Kong-based publisher of magazine "Modern Weekly", has officially changed its name to Meta Media Holdings Limited (0072.HK) since Monday, and entered "metaverse".
The media company announced last Thursday that the proposed change of the English name of the company from "Modern Media Holdings Limited" to "Meta Media Holdings Limited" has become effective from 14 January 2022.
In late December last year, it issued a notice and said that the change of company name would better reflect the current status of the group and its future direction.
It also stated at that time that the company's development has also moved from one-dimensional to two-dimensional to three-dimensional, even a virtual reality-led media characterized by super-dimensional.
Founded in 1993, Meta Media has started over 10 magazines in mainland China and Hong Kong, including Modern Weekly, Life Magazine, City Magazine, and U+ Weekly, and has a history of over 10 years in digital and social media development.
