More than 200 billion won in 6G will be invested by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT. South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT says they have allocated about 200 billion won to develop 6G core technology until 2025.

Since 5G has only been commercially available for more than two years, 6G research and development is still in its early stages. The commercialization will take time and is expected to start in 2028 at the earliest. 6G network speed is expected to be 50 times faster than 5G at the earliest, and the latency will be reduced to one-tenth of 5G.
