Asia Tech Wire (May 20) -- U.S. chip foundry giant Globalfoundries Inc. on Sunday announced the appointment of industry veteran Kay Chai (KC) Ang as the company's President of Asia and Chairman of China.

Ang, who has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor foundry industry, will lead and develop Globalfoundries' new business and strategic partnerships in the Asian market, with a focus on China.

Ang joined Globalfoundries in 2010, and prior to his appointment as president of Asia and chairman of China, he served as Globalfoundries' chief manufacturing officer, managing the company's global manufacturing footprint and overseeing all business operations in Singapore.
