Asia Tech Wire (July 15) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet met with Liu Xueliang, general manager of BYD's Asia-Pacific Automotive Sales Division, on Monday.
Hun Manet had recently revealed that BYD plans to invest in a car assembly plant in Cambodia.
And according to the Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport, as of the end of June 2024, the number of registered electric vehicles nationwide increased to 2,968 units.
Among them, there were 1,614 electric cars, 914 electric motorcycles and 440 electric tricycles.
The transport department noted that BYD electric vehicles from China were the most popular, with BYD accounting for 658 of the 2,968 units, followed by Toyota (261 units) and Tesla (186 units).
