Asian Tech Press (Nov 19) -- Spotify has announced that it is now rolling out podcast subscriptions to at least 33 new markets around the world, including Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Australia and more, in addition to the U.S.

The Spotify paid podcast service allows creators to charge an additional fee to provide specific or pure content or priority listening. Creators have until 2023 to join to keep all revenue beyond the base transaction fee, though Spotify will take a 5% cut after that.

In addition, Spotify has added a new feature that allows creators to download a list of users' contact information. For content, it announced that it has entered into a multi-year partnership with J.J. Abrams's Bad Robot Audio and will offer the team's original work as a priority in the future.
